Should technology be use to aid referees with decision making?

After England were robbed of the victory they deserved against Germany in the FIFA World Cup of Nations the question of video technology has reared its head again. Many believe referees need video help to get decisions right, while some of the old guard disagree and think betamax is the still the best format. But what do the experts make of the debate?

Sir Bert Millichip

Bring in video replays, you can’t stop technological progress. We had the same worries with the introduction of the whistle in the 1920s

I think referees need to have played the game. The ones we have are so bad at football they seem to actually get out of the way of the ball if it comes near them.

Stan Collymore

I think we need more officials on the pitch, or failing that just give every referee two whistles.

Graham Poll

I think referees are so excellent that they actually need less help with their decisions, linesmen should intentionally give bad decisions they have to correct

Mark Lawrenson

I think think referees need technological help. I call it glasses! Eh, Motty?!?! EH?!?!?!?
