Court hears Harry Redknapp habitually orders water when getting his round in

THE CASE against Tottenham Hotspur manager Harry Redknapp continued today as prosecutors outlined how the penny-pinching manager had ordered water while getting his round in on nine separate occasions when out on the lash with Joe Jordan, Frank Lampard Sr and Milan Mandaric in 2006.

Redknapp, who stands accused of evading tax and refusing to declare his Nandos black card to friends and family, is also thought to have avoided paying for about £170 of drinks and could face a spell in prison or at best a suspension of communal crisp eating privileges on nights out.

The court was also told of one occasion when “Mr Redknapp charged Mr Jordan for half the petrol to drive to a reserve game after Mrs Jordan had taken Joe’s car to go to Sainsburys to do the big shop, even though Redknapp drove a hybrid car.”

On top of this evidence will be presented that Redknapp always gets people to call him back so as not to use up his free minutes and has a huge bottle of 5ps that even his wife didn’t know existed.

It is alleged that the money Redknapp made from these deals was then deposited in an offshore account on the Isle of Wight listed under the name “Harold Redknapp”, which is thought to be an amalgamation of his favourite Neighbours character and his favourite presenter of Something for the Weekend.

Witnesses ready to stand in the trial against Redknapp are rumoured to include former Portsmouth striker Peter Crouch, who will claim he is almost certain that fivers were regularly going missing from his wallet and that Redknapp kept asking for endsies on his Lucozade, rather than buying his own.

Redknapp’s wife Sandra will also be called to speak under oath about whether it is true that Redknapp never tips more than 7%, sometimes going even lower if he thinks the waitress might be an Arsenal fan.

Many pundits believe that even if Redknapp is found not guilty, the trial could be hugely damaging to his chances of becoming England manager when Fabio Capello leaves after Euro 2012. World class generosity is a pre-requisite at international level, and it has been noted in the press that even Steve McClaren took the squad out for a Harvester lunch once.
